About the artisans

Bi Yuu was founded in 2012 by textile designer Marisol Centeno (Mexico, 1985), in the hopes of creating a brand specialized in designing rugs and textile complements with a strong vision of vanguard, quality, and social responsibility.

Bi Yuu uses design and innovation as a means to positively impact our collaborators' and clients' worlds.

'Bi' means Air/Wind/Breath in Zapotec, and 'Yuu' means Earth in Chatino (both native tongues of the Mexican territory). We believe BiYuu creates rugs with a soul, and we're proud to work with them to bring you the most special rugs to your home.

The Norte line is designed and hand-woven in Mexico by expert families of artisans, following the strictest fair trade standards.
